Each player uses one Summoner per battle. That Summoner summons a team of up to 6 Monster cards of the player’s choice.

Each Summoner has bonuses, weaknesses or abilities that affect their team’s Monster cards or their opponent’s during the battle.

Instead of gaining abilities and stats by leveling up, Summoners can, at each new level, summon Monsters of higher levels. Below is an example of a Rare Summoner and the levels of Monsters it can summon with each level.

All non-Summoner cards are classified as Monsters, regardless of whether they are a character or a creature type.

As Monster cards gain levels, their stats (Attack, Health, Armor, Speed) grow and at certain levels, they can also gain new abilities.

Monsters either belong to a specific Splinter (Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death or Dragon) or are Neutral cards. Neutral monsters can be summoned by a summoner of any Sliver, while Sliver monsters can only be summoned by summoners of that specific Sliver. Dragon Summoners can choose a designated Splinter at the beginning of the recruitment phase of the battle, and then summon Monsters from that Splinter as well as the Dragon Splinter.

Gold foil cards are rarer than regular foil cards, but require less BCX to level up, as shown below. Gold cards also earn a 10% bonus per gold card played when battles are won.
