Step by Step

Splinterlands can be found in a few exchanges, and it is possible to find it also in Uniswap, although you will find high ethereum commissions to buy it, ranging from $50 to $300 for just buying the cryptocurrency. Therefore, the best option is to use the centralized Exchange, such as gate.io that has this cryptocurrency listed.

The first thing we have to do is to deposit funds in our gate.io account. In order to have funds in gate.io, the best option is to send them from another Exchange, since the platform does not have the option to buy cryptocurrencies by credit card or wire transfer. You can check if they have already enabled this option in gate.io and thus save you the step of using Binance. If this is not the case, simply follow the steps that we will now see.

For this, I am going to use binance, and I am going to send tether (USDT), since it is the cryptocurrency we are going to need to buy Splinterlands.

In my case, I already have USDT in my binance account, if you don’t know how to buy it, once you have deposited your currency, in my case euros, look for the eur/usdt pair or your currency. Click on this pair, in the computer you must go to markets and fiat markets, and with the mobile in markets, next to home.

Once in this pair, we must click on sell, indicating the amount we want to change our currency for USDT. Indicate the amount, click on sell and you will have USDT in your balance.

With the usdt, go to wallet, spot wallet and click on withdraw.

Now we must go to gate.io, and go to deposit. In deposit we will look for USDT. Here, we click on the tron/TRC-20 network, among all the networks, as it has the lowest commissions and costs only one dollar commission. Copy the address and paste it into binance. Once in binance, enter the address, the tron network, trc-20 and the amount to withdraw the usdt. We confirm with our email and mobile, and that’s it. Remember to indicate the trc-20 network to save on commissions and not have any problems.

Now, you must wait for the USDT to appear in your gate.io balance, it usually takes a few minutes until you have it ready to use. Once they appear, go to my funds, search for usdt or tether and click on trade.

You will see the panel to buy and sell cryptocurrencies, here, search for SPS, and you will see the SPS/usdt pair. We go down and indicate the amount we want to buy Splinterlands. Here, if you want to use all your usdt, just click on the number above and the total will be placed. At the top of Price you will see the current price of the cryptocurrency. With the amount indicated, just click on the buy button.

Sometimes the order may take some time to be executed, if you want to buy instantly, I recommend you to click on the price and indicate +1%, and the same when you want to sell and you want the operation to be executed instantly.

Now, you will own Splinterlands, and to check it, you can go again to my funds to see the amount you have. Once you want to sell it, we must return to the same panel above, but this time we will go to the red sell button. We indicate the amount we want to sell, and click on sell. This way, you can have USDT again and send them to binance to withdraw them to your bank account.

If you don’t want to sell them, you can also withdraw them from gate.io to your metamask wallet to use them in the game to buy cards, and all kinds of aspects of the game.

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterland is a unique digital card game that allows players to truly own their cards and other in-game assets. Thanks to web 3.0 technology powered by the HIVE blockchain, every card in Splinterlands is a non-fungible token owned by a player. This means players can do whatever they want with their cards, such as fight for rewards, keep them as collectibles, trade them on the peer-to-peer marketplace, combine them to level them up or even burn them to obtain Dark Energy Crystals, the official in-game cryptocurrency of Splinterlands.

The game was founded by blockchain innovators who shared a frustration with conventional digital card games. The frustration is that when collectible card games became digital, players’ ownership of their assets was lost somewhere along the way. The companies that owned the cards that players were supposed to own could withhold information, reprint cards as often as they wished, or even delete a player’s collection entirely for inactivity or non-compliance with terms. Thanks to the power of the blockchain, Splinterlands solves these problems by making digital cards transparent, scarce and truly owned by the players who own them.

With hundreds of unique cards, Splinterlands is a brilliantly designed, fast-paced collectible card game that allows its players to win by playing. Unlike more traditional card games, such as Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon, Splinterlands battles are fast-paced, with each game lasting only 2-3 minutes. Instead of turn-based action where each move is carefully and slowly controlled, the main mechanic of Splinterlands is a drafting style. Once an opponent is found, each player assembles a team of up to 6 cards from their Splinterlands collection. Then, according to a unique set of rules that make each game different, the battle automatically unfolds in a fast-paced, action-packed format that allows players to learn from both victory and defeat.

Splinterlands is a strategist’s dream, loved by one of the gaming industry’s biggest and most loyal fans to win. It is translated into nearly a dozen languages and is played in more than 100 countries around the world. Every day, thousands of cards are traded for thousands of dollars in the peer 2 peer monster market. Join the fight at Splinterlands.com.

Each player uses one Summoner per battle. That Summoner summons a team of up to 6 Monster cards of the player’s choice.

Each Summoner has bonuses, weaknesses or abilities that affect their team’s Monster cards or their opponent’s during the battle.

Instead of gaining abilities and stats by leveling up, Summoners can, at each new level, summon Monsters of higher levels. Below is an example of a Rare Summoner and the levels of Monsters it can summon with each level.

All non-Summoner cards are classified as Monsters, regardless of whether they are a character or a creature type.

As Monster cards gain levels, their stats (Attack, Health, Armor, Speed) grow and at certain levels, they can also gain new abilities.

Monsters either belong to a specific Splinter (Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death or Dragon) or are Neutral cards. Neutral monsters can be summoned by a summoner of any Sliver, while Sliver monsters can only be summoned by summoners of that specific Sliver. Dragon Summoners can choose a designated Splinter at the beginning of the recruitment phase of the battle, and then summon Monsters from that Splinter as well as the Dragon Splinter.

Gold foil cards are rarer than regular foil cards, but require less BCX to level up, as shown below. Gold cards also earn a 10% bonus per gold card played when battles are won.
