Welcome to this guide, where we are going to show you how you can buy Ethereum directly from your metamask wallet.
This way, you can avoid creating accounts on other exchanges and then sending the cryptocurrencies to your wallet. With this tutorial, we will see how you can pay with your card or wire transfer to buy ETH and have it directly in your metamask balance.
There are more and more options to buy directly in metamask, but in this guide we will focus on the step by step with Transak, and you can also find the steps to buy with wyre.
If you want to use another payment gateway, the process will be almost the same, so you can use this tutorial as a reference. Since all payment gateways usually have the same requirements to be able to buy ETH or another cryptocurrency through them.
We will open our metamask account and click on the first button above to buy.
Here, we will see different options. Where we also find directly deposit ETH, which this option will be useful if we have ETH in another Exchange. If this is your case, you can watch this tutorial to know how to send it.
Here, we will choose the payment gateway you like the most, in this case we are going to use transak but you can use any other. Choose the one that is most convenient for you, the commissions are usually very similar between all of them.
Once you click on transak, you will see the following panel. Here, we must select the amount and the currency we will use to pay, whether it is eur, dollars, pounds or any other.
Below we will have to indicate the payment method, you will see that you have available bank transfer, card or apple pay. My recommendation is to use card or apple pay to have it in a few minutes, as the transfer can take a few days, although the commission is smaller.
When you select the payment method, you will see below in fee what commission you will be charged for that amount and that payment method. You can select another payment method to see the difference in fees and which is more worthwhile for you.
If we scroll down a little further, we will see the amount we will receive from Ethereum. Although in this case we are buying Ethereum, you can also use transak to buy other cryptocurrencies and have them deposited in your metamask such as DAI, USDC, USDT.
Finally, before clicking on buy now, we find the slippage, which is the difference between the current price and the price we will get. Here, if it is less than 2%, it is correct. If it is higher, I recommend you wait a while to buy and let it adjust. In this case, as you can see, it is 0.13%. And on the right you can see how long it takes to process the payment and how long it will take to credit the amount purchased to your metamask wallet. Depending on the payment method it can be hours or days, or a few minutes with the card.
With all the information viewed and reviewed, click on buy now.
Now, we find the order information and the address where the purchase will be deposited, which is the address of our metamask wallet. You can change it if you want to deposit the ETH you buy at another address. Confirm all the details such as the commissions you have and the total amount and click on buy ETH.
Enter your email address, and verify with the code you will receive in your email.
Finally, we must complete the KYC with our name, mobile number and date of birth. Click on continue and enter your address and information about where you live. And finally, we must enter our national insurance number if you are in the USA or a photo of our ID to verify our identity.
With the KYC passed, the only thing left to do is to make the payment with the payment method we have indicated. Either by bank transfer or by entering your card to make the payment. And with the payment done, we will have the ETH on its way to our metamask wallet.
Note that all payment gateways will ask for a KYC (Know your customer). This tool is used to verify who you are and to avoid money laundering. So you can’t avoid having to go through this process if you want to buy ETH directly from metamask.
In case you want to use Wyre to make the purchase, the operation is very similar. For this, you can see below all the steps of the process with images.
I hope it has helped you to be able to buy ETH directly to your metamask wallet. Remember, if you don’t have an account with binance you can create one just below.
