In case you can’t see the video, let’s watch the guide below.

Step by Step Guide

The first step is to create an account with Binance to follow the instructions that we will now see, above you will find a link to do so.

With your account created, the next step is to log in and deposit funds. For me, the most practical way is by credit card, although it has a commission of 1.8%, you can have the balance instantly in your account, while with a wire transfer, there is no commission, but you must wait a few days to have the balance available.

With your funds, we must first buy a stablecoin or another cryptocurrency, in my case, I like to use USDT (Tether). To do this, we will go to markets/markets, and click on FIAT market. Here, we will look for our currency, in my case Euros (EUR). And you will see the EUR/USDT pair.

We click on this pair, and go to the red sell button. Since we must exchange Euros for USDT. Indicate the amount of Euros you want to exchange or your currency for USDT. Click on sell and that’s it, you will have USDT.

With the USDT in your balance, you must go again to markets, FIAT market, and search this time for ARB. Search for ARB and not Arbitrum, as ARB is the acronym and if you enter Arbitrum you may not find it. Once you search for ARB, you will see the ARB/USDT pair.

Click on it, and now go to the buy part with the green button. Here, indicate the amount of USDT (Tether), which we bought earlier, you want to use to buy Arbitrum, and click on buy. With this, you will have Arbitrum in your balance.

Now, you will see on the right side of the screen that the transaction has been completed.

You can go back to the main panel to see your new cryptocurrency. If you want to withdraw it, you must click on the Arbitrum cryptocurrency, withdraw, and enter the address you want to withdraw it to, either your metamask wallet, another exchange or another platform. You can find a guide on our blog if you don’t know how to withdraw cryptocurrencies from Binance.

If you follow these steps, you can have ARB in just a few minutes in your account. Register today with Binance so you don’t miss your chance.

To finish this guide, the steps we have summarized are the following, in case you got lost at some point:

  • Login to Binance or create an account if you don’t have one yet.
  • Deposit funds into your account (Card or wire transfer)
  • Use the deposited currency to buy USDT (in my case using EUR/USDT pair)

What is Arbitrum?

We must decentralize

The Arbitrum DAO is a major step forward, making Arbitrum the first EVM rollup technology to reach Stage 1 decentralization.

As of today, anyone can easily launch a new Arbitrum chain as a Layer 3 in the Arbitrum ecosystem.

Who participates?

Everyone in the ecosystem can participate in governance. Token holders control protocol updates, the allocation of funds, and the election of a Security Council that can perform emergency updates. Their voting power is derived directly from the number of tokens delegated to them.

Delegates are users who commit to ongoing participation in governance.

Token holders may select a preferred delegate, including themselves, and may re-delegate at any time.

The Security Council can approve protocol updates when a quick response is needed.

The Safety Council is composed of 12 highly reputable community members. Emergency updates require a multisig of 9 out of 12.

The DAO governs Arbitrum One and Nova.

The Arbitrum DAO includes token holders and their delegates. It has the power to update the protocol and constitution, as well as to elect the Security Council. Proposals for improvements and amendments are submitted and voted on by the DAO.

This marks the beginning of decentralized governance of the Arbitrum protocol. Users across the ecosystem will have voting power. 11.62% of the tokens will initially be distributed to users and 1.13% will be distributed to the Arbitrum ecosystem DAOs.

The status of decentralization

Ownership of the chain

Ownership of the blockchain, both Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova, is under the control of the Arbitrum Governance system.

Composed of both the Arbitrum DAO and the Security Council, the governance system currently has the ability to alter itself. Arbitrum One has reached Stage 1 decentralization.

Validator Ownership

Execution on Arbitrum is validated to Ethereum Mainnet by a set of validators.

This set of validators has been expanded to include organizations across the ecosystem. All validators would have to be malicious for an incorrect transaction to be accepted.

Sequencer Property

The Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova sequencers are currently maintained by the Arbitrum Foundation.

Governance currently has the power to select new Sequencers.

Ownership of the Data Availability Committee (DAC)

Arbitrum Nova has a 7-party DAC, whose members can be seen here.

Arbitrum’s governance system currently has the power to change the DAC, adding or removing members, or modifying the DAC’s role in the system.
